Union Market is in the heart of NoMa in Washington, DC. Union Market is a fun place to shop and eat at local DMV businesses! If you choose Union Market as your engagement session location you and your sweetheart could make the day of it! You could have brunch at Bidwell’s, stop for dessert at Little Baby’s Ice Cream, shop at Salt and Sundry, and lastly you can check out some awesome murals from local artists to Yoko Ono!
There are many reasons why it’s a great location for photography sessions. One of the main reasons is that Union Market allows for a beautiful background! From the open space background, to the windows in front of Union Market, to the murals around it!
As a Washington, DC engagement photographer, I have to warn my clients about permit fees at many of D.C’s popular engagement session locations. Luckily, Union Market does not charge a permit fee for engagement sessions! They also have free parking! And we all know how hard that is to find in D.C!
Last month, I did a Union Market engagement session for my friends Nat and Victoria. I’ve known Nat for almost 7 years! We met in college, when he gave mutual friends and I a ride to one of the Paranormal Activity sequels. Years later Nat told me about a women he met at work, and the rest is history!
Nat asked Victoria to marry him in the Dominican Republic with their family around! What a sweet engagement! I can’t wait for their wedding in September!
We met early one Saturday morning for their Union Market engagement session. The lighting was perfect in front of Union Market! I’m glad I got to capture their relationship. Nat and Victoria are the type of couple who love to make each other laugh, so I made sure to capture their laugher in our session!
