Lincoln Memorial Portrait Sunrise Session
Amanda and Lance were in town from L.A. because Amanda was running in one of the top Marathons in the U.S, the Marine Corps Marathon! (I can’t imagine what it takes to train for a marathon when I find it hard to consistently go to pilates class.)
Since this was also their first time in D.C, Amanda contacted me because she wanted to have portrait photos taken with her husband Lance at the National Mall. She was in love with the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument and wanted iconic D.C portraits. She told me they had photos taken while traveling in Paris and wanted to do the same in D.C. I felt so honored to be able to commemorate their memorable experience!
It had been rainy and grey for the past few days, and we actually had to reschedule because we were hit by a Nor’easter (typical Northeast problems). I was hoping we would get some sun for this sunrise session, so Amanda and Lance wouldn’t remember D.C as grey and rainy. And damn, did the sun deliver! The blue clouds made the sky look like a painting! Then in a split second the sky turned purple, and honestly this was one of the most beautiful sunrises I’ve ever seen.
Amanda and Lance are such a sweet and cute couple! They have been married for nine years and had two little ones waiting for them back home.
I also got to surprise them with a few portraits on film! See if you can tell which are film photos!
Interested in a session at the national mall? Send me a note!
