10 DC Small Wedding and Elopement Venues
DC War Memorial on The National Mall
The first location that comes to mind when thinking of DC small wedding venues is the DC War Memorial on the National Mall. This is an amazing location for couples who are interested in classic DC wedding photos. The DC War Memorial also has room for seating for a handful of guests! After the ceremony, you can walk around the rest of the National Mall and have wedding portraits taken at the Lincoln Memorial or the Reflecting Pool.
If you want to have an elopement at the DC War Memorial you will need to apply for a special use permit with the National Park Service. The permit can cost anywhere between $50-$250 depending on the number of guests, plus a $90 application fee. The permit includes two hours of ceremony time, which is great for portraits after the ceremony.


Fathom Gallery
Fathom Gallery is a beautiful modern elopement or small wedding venue in Logan Circle. They have a couple of options to choose from for your ceremony location, including a rooftop garden. This would be a perfect option for a couple who wants a modern DC elopement.

As well being a traditional wedding venue District Winery, also offers small wedding packages. District Wintery is located in the Yards Park in Southeast. The Line Hotel
The Line Hotel is located in Adams Morgan and offers rooftop views of Northwest DC! Having your elopement or small wedding at a hotel is a great idea since you wouldn’t have to book a different getting-ready location! This venue is perfect for couples who want a chic modern vibe.
Dock 5
Dock 5 is located at Union Market in Northeast DC. After the ceremony, you could take your portraits at all of the different colorful walls Union Market has to offer. This venue would be perfect for couples wanting an industrial small wedding vibe.

Lincoln’s Cottage is such an awesome venue for a small wedding. It is located in Northeast DC and is the actual Cottage of President Lincoln. The Cottage was used during the summers for his family when they wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown DC in the 1800s. The Cottage and grounds are beautiful for a small wedding! It’s a perfect hidden gem for couples who love history!
Big Bear Cafe
Big Bear Cafe is located in Shaw. It offers a beautiful outdoor patio covered with a grapevine canopy and indoor space for a small reception. This is a great location for couples looking for a rustic vibe in the middle of the city.
Dacha Loft
Dacha Loft is located in Shaw above their famous beer garden. Their indoor loft reception seating for 35 or standing room for 80. The loft offers large windows for natural light and exposed brick. This is a great location for couples who want an urban vibe for their small wedding.
