Planning a Wedding at City Winery
City Winery Details
City Winery is a wedding venue in Northeast DC, just north of Union Market. This winery offers a rustic feel and can accommodate 250 guests.
Where to Get Ready
A great advantage of this venue is that they offer getting ready spaces for the wedding party! This allows the day to be less stressful because you can get ready at your ceremony location.

This Bride and Groom also sign their Ketubah in the same room.

Where to Take Photos
The Barrel Room – perfect for wine lovers. This couple had their first look in that room!

The Wine Garden/Loft Floor

Union Market
Since the Winery is so close to Union Market you can plan to have some portraits taken there for an urban backdrop.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony is held on their Wine Garden/Loft Floor. This room has views of Northeast DC and ivy covered walls. The ceremony space is inside which is perfect because you will not have to stress about the weather on your wedding day. It’s also great for your guests in the summer, so they can be free from the DC heat!

Reception and Cocktail Hour
The reception space can be held on the second or the Wine Garden/Loft Floor while cocktail hour is on the top floor. This couple had their reception on the Wine Garden/Loft floor. The reception space is great because it offers a large dance floor for your guests!

The Difference Between City Winery and District Winery
If you’re looking to having a wedding at a winery in DC then you’re probably also considering District Winery. Both Winery’s offer great ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour spaces. The main differences are location and aesthetics. District Winery overlooks the Anacostia River whereas City Winery overlooks Northeast DC. District Winery will give you more nautical and chic vibes where City Winery will give you more rustic and urban vibes. Since District Winery is located in Navy Yard they have more options for outdoor photos, while City Winery does not offer as many photo locations right outside of its location.
Both Wineries are great wedding locations in DC! It comes down to your preference and style!
